The EO Lovers Holiday Guide: Tips For Integrating Essential Oils Into The Holidays

Essential oils are one of the greatest natural gifts Earth has to offer us. In this season where gifts are at the top of many people‘s minds, let us not forget essential oils as our go-to for both using and sharing. December tends to be a fast-paced month filled with family time, friend gatherings, and the occasional sickness. It’s easy to fall out of routine with so much going on, but keeping up with small habits can help reduce stress and potential illness. Additionally, using essential oils can add to the fun of the season and be a great source of light and happiness. Let’s dive into how we can incorporate essential oils into this busy, fun, exciting time.

For The Homebody:

There are few things more comforting than getting in your pajamas, sitting on your couch, and turning on a good holiday movie. So how can we make this relaxing experience even more restorative for us this season?

  1. While getting cozy in your safe space, turn on your diffuser before you get comfortable on your couch. Whether you choose citrus oils or woody oils, it will help to cleanse the air, boost your mood, and contribute to building your immune system.

  2. When selecting a warm drink to sip, choose one that will nourish your body, such as warm lemonade sweetened with honey and spiced up with some cinnamon bark essential oil. Not only will it be delicious and relaxing, but it is also great for metabolism and your immune system.

  3. Add a SOC to your downtime to help with relaxation and illness prevention. If you’ve ever been the recipient of a SOC, you know how calming it can be. Take turns giving and receiving an application with your partner and build up your defenses as you watch a show before bed.

For The Partier:

You may be stressed about hosting or attending a handful of parties at the end of this year. With this guide, hopefully, the only thing you will have to worry about beyond this point is which ugly sweater to wear.

  1. When asked to bring a dessert, choose to bake something with an essential oil that you love. For example, a favorite in the Truman family is adding peppermint or wild orange to a batch of double chocolate brownies. Not only is it delicious, but it is a conversation starter about all the ways you use essential oils in your life.

  2. When invited to a gift exchange or favorite things party, choose your favorite oil to give! When in doubt, and if there is a price limit, choose lemon oil, a guaranteed favorite that anyone will love. Explain the ways you use it and invite the recipient of the gift to do the same, such as adding 2-3 drops in a glass of water for flavor and immunity.

  3. If you’re hosting, make sure to have your diffuser on with some Holiday Joy or other warm oils to create a comforting ambiance. Sanitize your countertops with Cassia or Wild Orange to create the perfect holiday vibes in your home that everyone can sense upon entry.

For The Gift Giver:

Thinking of the perfect gift for anyone can be so overwhelming and you may not know where to even begin looking. At this time of year, share the things that are truly precious to you, that you can’t live without, and that you know would benefit another person’s life.

  1. Give away On Guard hand soap as a neighborhood gift with some fresh citrus and chocolates.

  2. Donate On Guard hand sprays or oil diffusers to teachers at your children’s school to show them appreciation and help them combat germs.

  3. Put 10 mL roll-ons in your children’s stockings, such as Rose or Adaptive, that they can pull out of their backpacks and use in anxious or stressful situations throughout the year.

For The Seasonal Sickness Victims:

Nobody wants to be sick when it comes time to be around large groups of people. Follow the tips below to nip it in the bud or prevent anything that is going around in your family or community.

  1. Take on guard capsules daily to have a defense built up for your immune system.

  2. Do the Infectious Disease application from SOC once a week to be preventative or 2-3x a week to fight off the cold or flu.

  3. Take your daily VMG+ supplement to make sure your body has stores of nutrients to pull from as your body is fighting and healing.

This December, let us all look at the abundance of goodness we receive from using essential oils. We have much to be grateful for as we realize how much essential oils benefit our lives in all ways, from good health to good business, and where much is given, much is expected. The best way to pay it forward is to continue to use and share. We hope this post inspires you to keep up your good habits and find new ways to incorporate essential oils into this wonderful holiday season.
